Voter Intimidation
I have believed since I was in High School (yes, school did go that far when I was a kid) that the right to vote in the elections of the United States was a privilege and a responsibility.
It is hard for me to imagine that providing information regarding candidates and issues would be considered by some, “voted intimidation.” But here is the proof. Can you imagine the intensity of fear when your employer sends you a statement like that which follows:
The Koch brothers, have come under fire for sending a “voter information packet” to 45,000 employees of Koch Industries and its Georgia Pacific unit. It also includes a letter from Koch Industries President David Robertson. Robertson said in the letter that “the candidate you pick is your choice, and your choice alone.” (Reuters) [emphasis mine]
No wonder the “guardians of Democracy” are on the warpath. What have we come to in this Country when the President of a major Corporate entity is allowed to make such an intimidating statement? Freedom of choice has obviously ended for corporate workers!
I am also amazed at the number of folks who want to tell us what we can and cannot believe about the operation of God in the lives of men. So many “spokespersons” have departed from the revealed Word of God, or called what He has said into question, that many who are least competent in theological arguments are confused and afraid. We need an absolute return to the clear TRUTH of Scripture, without opinion, manipulation, or intimidation. God is explicitly clear. God is openly understandable. His revelation is superintended by His Spirit in the innermost being of the Redeemed.
If that is not being made clear to you – you need a change of spokespersons.
By the way, the persons you vote for in the coming elections are “your choice, and yours alone.”
