What to Do
Some of the pictures are shocking. It’s hard to believe that was once a town is now a pile of rubble. And while the scale is so much smaller than the problems in Japan, when any home is lost and any life is lost in some tragic event, it is a struggle to maintain a sense of perspective.
What can we do to help? Your Church is surely exploring how they can help. Perhaps you have contributed to the Red Cross or Texas Baptist Men or another agency that is in the rescue/help/ministry business. Maybe you will find the opportunity to join a group who will go to one of the ravaged towns and neighborhoods that has suffered from this last round of weather related destruction. Whatever else you do, you can pray. Praying has become such a cliche these days, but real prayer, from the heart of a Believer who knows and experiences the power of God is of surpassing value. Perhaps you could stop even now, lift up those who are struggling, and trust that God will minister grace in the path of your faith.
Folks in trouble will thank you. I will thank you. God will hear and answer.
