Thought For The Day

What To Say

What does one say in light of the unspeakable tragedy that has taken so many lives in the last few weeks because of the demonic evil in this World? Sutherland Springs, New York City, Las Vegas, all come to mind.

Those of us who are intimately involved with the Church of Jesus Christ are particularly disturbed by the murder of so many who feel sheltered by the building built for God’s family to Worship. It feels closer. . .because it could have just as easily been us.

As one who has spent most of this life facing with others the struggles, hurts, trials, health crises, and death that is so rampant in our World, one would think words would come with wisdom, veracity, and certainty. I assure you, they don’t.

You should do what you are confident God would have you do, say what you are sure you would want to hear when your circumstances are similar. Pray. Pray again.

As for me, I shall pray, speak words, of comfort I hope, when required. But, mostly, I will weep with and for those who weep, and continue to proclaim the Truth that life is fragile and brief, and failure to prepare for what follows is foolish.

John 11:35. Enough said.
