If one is a professional football player, there is always that frequent backward glance to see which player, younger, faster, smarter, fresh from the University is about to take over your spot on the roster. Getting older and slower is tough at contract time.

Now consider Tim Tebow. Young, fast, smart, and fresh from the University, who led the Denver Broncos last year to some amazing wins. Guess who is signing on? Guess who is about to get a bigger contract? Yep! It’s the “old man,” Peyton Manning. Never mind that he has played a game or two more than you. Don’t worry that he is about as accurate with his passes as a laser. Don’t worry about the $95 million. Worry about the fact that Elway thinks he is the best quarterback in the league. . .because he may very well be.

Peyton Manning has made his decision … and he’s taking his talents to the Mile High City. Chris Mortenson of ESPN reported that Manning had advised agent Tom Condon to wrap up negotiations on what is believed to be a five-year, $95 million offer. (YAHOO News)
