Thought For The Day

Who Won the Debate?

I never cease to be amazed how much interest is generated by a Presidential Debate. Having been a “debater” in long times past, I am always interested in the “mechanics.”

We have had three (four, if you count Vice-Presidential) debates now and mostly I hear and read about who “won,” who “lost,” and there follows a litany of biased thinking depending on the political persuasion of the person commenting.

Would we not be wiser, in light of the “State of the Nation” to consider who (between the presenters) has the best interest of our Nation at heart? To spend our time considering the past, the future, and even the present and determine who might best Lead in times such as these, would be a better use of our time.

The Media (who control the discourse) are more concerned about how “interruptions,” “gaffs,” and “misspoken ideas” will change the polls. They have already concluded that whoever wins OHIO (or some other State) will win the Presidency, period, paragraph.

Why is it then that we don’t save a boatload (perhaps shipload) of money and have only Ohioans vote?

I take comfort in the fact that there is no “voting” in the Kingdom of God. All decisions have been made. He is LORD. I am a slave to obedience. No options, no changes, no distractions. It is a life of supreme joy, harmony, and ultimate peace.
