Thought For The Day

Cold Returns

It’s easy to enjoy cool. It’s more difficult to endure cold. For at least a night or two it is going to be cold here on the farm. Unfortunately I don’t have a fireplace, so if I want to warm up that way, I just stack up a bit of brush cuttings (a year round activity) and start a fire outside. Not exactly the same, but it works for me.

There continues a lot of coldness in the heart of individuals who have abandoned attendance at Churches where God gathers His people and fills them with Truth, Joy, Peace, and Fellowship with other Believers. I understand that it will get worse in the days ahead. Cold, snow, freezing rain (or any rain) often draws down the crowd around the Church building. Perhaps that is why it rains so little sometimes; just our Father saying, “I miss you when it rains.”

Over the long and multiple years of my life I have been witness to the decline in attendance of so many when the cost to be there is a little more fortitude. Surely God forgives, but, speaking in anthropomorphic terms, I wonder if He misses us (see Hebrews 10:25)?

Christian West I to share your concerns about the church, but the Bible says that in the end times there will be a great falling away. Love you. Thanks for all you do.
