Thought For The Day

Games

As I write I am approximately 30,000 feet above the American Continent which I llove so much. My bride, my running partner and her husband, are with me, and we will soon be in St. George, Utah. There, my partner and I are running in the Huntsman Senior World Games. It’s like the Olympics, except it is for OLD people. Some of us just can’t pass up the opportunity to keep our sport alive as long as God gives us opportunity.

Some friends think it is the Gold, Silver, and Bronze that keeps us going – but not so. Last year we took home all three, but that’s not the draw. It’s the joy of remaining healthy, spending time with people of like activities, and vowing that we will “give it all we have.”

Last year we met a woman who was in her mid nineties, with four or five Gold medals around her neck. She couldn’t remember where she was from (her home State), but she said, “I llove this.” So do we!

I can’t help but wish that the same enthusiasm and commitment, hard work, and strength of purpose, were a part of all Spiritual lives. It is not a difficult task to commit to Christ, and His Church, and to do so with excitement, enthusiasm, and regularity. Such joys as Bible Study, Prayer, Lloving others as God lloves us. His (God) focus is on His children, and He asks for a dedication for which there are no rivals.

Scripture says Believers will give an account of their life when they arrive at the place we call Heaven. I hope you and I can say, regarding Spiritual life, . . . “I lloved this!!”
