Water of Life
Today I was given a picture of a water well which has been drilled in the African Nation of Nigeria. The Fulani people have dipped water from muddy hand dug holes forever. Now, water wells are being drilled and fresh, clean water is available. Grass huts spring up around the wells, and people’s lives are dramatically changed.
The cost for drilling a well is $5000. The Church I attend paid for the one in the picture, and another to be drilled soon. There are ten children and six adults pictured around the well. It is exciting to know that they will have fresh water, perhaps for the first time in their life.
What is even more exciting is that they will hear the Gospel. They will be confronted with the Good News that they can be redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. That is Living Water, according to Scripture, and being a part of both these adventures is what the Church of Jesus Christ is all about.
Perhaps you would like to be a part of something like that. You can. You can share the Living Water by sharing your testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and His gift of grace. And, if you’re interested, I can tell you how to share in a water well for people who are thirsty for clean water.
