Thought For The Day

Adding Patience

Where is God going to let the United States of America go? It’s been a long time since 1776, and there has been “a lot of water under the bridge.” We have survived a lot (a classic understatement) and still consider ourselves to be invulnerable.

I have to admit that we remain strong militarily – for the time being, but even that is changing. It is unlikely that anyone will ever again attack the United States as did Japan on December 7, 1941. But then, that is no longer the issue.

We are being driven to our knees by our own indifference to the only reality that makes a difference. Old age give a bit of leniency in remembering the past as better than it may have been, but it also lends insight in the future.

We have a promise from God – and every day, believing that promise and focusing our attention on Heavenly things demands a faith that is rich with patience. I want God to settle the score – now! I want the new Heavens and the new Earth. I want the Kingdom of God to come in fullness in a visible, eternal reality that cannot be denied.

And perhaps that is soon to be realized – but in the meantime – we must have a patient faith that moves forward in the steady light of Truth, step by step, day by day.

Have faith. Add patience – enduring faith is saving faith.
