Ante Up!

No matter how bitter the debate or critical the issues, there is one item that is never removed from the table – or the minds of politicians – even when the economic stability of the Nation is in the balance.

Here’s what may be more than typical in the world of politics –

“Because this fight is SO critical — as soon as you’ve called your congressman,
I must ask for your financial support,” . . .  (Politico)

Nothing, listen, nothing is more important than re-election. Nothing, not the trauma of war, the starvation of millions in Africa, the collapse of the American economy, the coming Islamization of Europe, even the end of the age, is sufficient to cause the focus to waver.

You politician needs money! And they need it now (whenever now is and it is always)!

I know Churches like that. But here is the Truth. No Church should ever have to ask for money, raise money, find money or borrow money. Once a Believer has been taught the Truth of God’s revealed Word, and becomes obedient to it, money will (it isn’t because we choose disobedience and lesser things) be sufficient and plenteous. The direction (read: plan or will) in which God is moving must be clearly and accurately proclaimed, and God’s people are expected to give of their financial resources as the Spirit leads, which will always be in exact porportion to their income and ability. And when everyone has been obedient, should there be any shortfall (a most unusual and unlikely event designed to demonstrate the grace of God), God will supernaturally supply out of His riches in glory.

I have no idea how politicians are supposed to get their money.
