Thought For The Day

You’re Kidding, Right?

Remember when we were kids (I know, pretty hard for some of us) and something happened that wasn’t supposed to happen and something got broken or damaged, and we blamed it on someone else – anyone else – as long as the someone wasn’t me?

Sounds like the “children” in Congress are going to give that a try. Maybe I have misunderstood, but I get the impression Congress is now going to make an attempt to blame the possibility of a lower credit rating for the United States as the problem which is causing all the current furor over the debt ceiling debacle.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Executives from U.S. credit rating agencies are expected to face sharp congressional scrutiny on Wednesday for their companies’ roles in the financial crisis and the U.S. debt ceiling debate.

We need one of those often seen road signs warning us to slow down, at each entrance to our Capitol – “Children At Play.”

I’ve seen that same action in the life of so many Believers. They continually find ways to be disobedient to God’s revealed Word, live as if they were not related at all to God’s moral Truth, rarely to never find time for God’s family (the Church of Jesus Christ) and then complain that God is making their life difficult.

Can’t we all just grow up?
