For the Beauty. . .
Ending a few days off. . .or a “vacation” of any sort, is somewhat difficult. It is especially hard if one has had the opportunity to see the beauty of the Earth from a different perspective, a different place, or through the eyes of someone new to an area visited.
Fall in New England is nothing short of spectacular. I know we have some pretty fall colors (I have a bright yellow tree in my yard here on the farm) here in Texas, but it is nothing like mid-coast Maine ( in my opinion).
Scripture tells us that God makes all things beautiful. He sustains the Earth with a creative hand in everything He touches from roiling sea scapes to miles of flat land engulfed in golden wheat. Every tree and flower is a testament not only to His infinite wisdom, but a clear demonstration of His llove for all mankind.
The mountains are majestic, the colors are indescribable, and only the best of cameras can capture even part of its richness. 10,000 trees across a verdant valley all shouting out their praise to God.
Time with friends, time to relax and enjoy casual conversation over a once-a-year dinner of the freshest sea-food, and time to share the allure and spender of God’s handiwork, are ingredients of His unending grace.
As always, it is good to be home. Home, where the heart is. Home, where we live and work, share our lives with others, and gather to worship in that place prepared by the work of busy hands in obedience to God, our Father.
