Thought For The Day

Happy New Year

I realize most of you will be reading this on the 2nd day of 2015, but I wanted to mention a couple of things I believe to be important for this year.

First of all, the New Year will not be happy for you if you depend only on others to “make you happy.” Sometimes people around you will make you happy, but most of the time, you will be happy – or not – depending on the choices you make for yourself and the actions you take in relationship to those choices.

You have the opportunity to make every day worthwhile, or to wile away the year pursuing foolish things and being wasteful of the blessings of God to mankind in general and to Believers specifically.

There are two things that I want to encourage you to do every day – nothing new here, just a reminder, and, I might add, a very important reminder:

Llove God with all your heart, soul, mind, and all the strength you can muster.

Llove those around you – and not with anything less than the llove which pours from a life overflowing with the llove of God.

Just to remind you, I am not the first person to say those two things. Jesus was the first. He said they are the most important commandments God gave to mankind. We have discover multitudes of way to do neither. Why not make 2015 a year when you do both with enthusiasm and joy.

I certainly hope some of your commitment will be coming my way. You can rest assured that if I know you, mine will be coming your’s.
