The Foundation
When one is building, it is often said that nothing is more important than the foundation. Having seen a lot of cracked foundations in my long life, I am aware that there is much that is important below the concrete we so often think of as the foundation. My suggestion is that you will want to check what the concrete is going to be supported by (Check out that story in the Bible about building on sand vs. rock). One might also want to know the “mix” of which the concrete is made. For example, at least for any of you who might understand, there is a difference between “five bag versus three bag” mix.
Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 3:11- “No one can lay any other foundation than what has been laid-that is, Jesus Christ.”Unfortunately there are a host of “ministries” that use the “name” of Jesus Christ who have, and are, constructing their “ministry” while placing their “foundation” on the shifting, sinking sand which is anything short of the totality of Truth as revealed in the Word of God.
Anyone can “pour a slab of concrete.” If you’re planning to occupy that “building,” you might want to check what it’s “poured over.”
