The Sea
Recently I was once again privileged to spend some time on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. There is something about spending time around the sea that causes one to re-invigorate some latent ideas –
The sea makes a sound. It is:
Constant – there is the sound of the waves breaking on the shore, and they are like God’s provision and protection. We, as Believers, are never without those two wonderful demonstrations of His llove for us. We need never worry about tomorrow, or fear for the future. His provision is consistent.
Consistent – there is never a cessation in the operation of the waves. And so it is to remind us that our praise, and our performance, are to match (as best we can) His never changing llove. Lift up the sacrifice of praise at all times, and perform your ministry with enthusiasm and joy.
Calming – There is a peaceful feeling that engulfs one at the shore of His magnificent seas. That feeling must be clearly seen and heard in our laughter and our llove. Sharing our lives with others, learning to genuinely llove as God lloves brings immeasurable calm to our life.
While we don’t have the Seas around my home, I covet every opportunity to see and feel and enjoy my fascination with the ocean. And, I covet the opportunity to allow these qualities to pervade the thoughts and actions of OUR lives as the people of Him who gave us the magnificent, incredible Oceans.
