Thought For The Day

Women’s Rights

In the controversy regarding the “rights” of women – there is a lot of Truth lost in the conversation.

I was reading some articles – which led to other articles – on Rush Limbaugh’s comments regarding testimony before Congress.  A student at Georgetown University (a Catholic University), in presenting testimony seemed to say that women on campus need to have free contraceptives (provided by the University under requirement of the Government) because they (the women) cannot necessarily afford to purchase those items.

Here’s my question. Why can’t a woman ask her husband to provide the payment? One might say – “she doesn’t have a husband.” In that case, why is she having a sexual relationship? That would be a violation of God’s Truth. . .and what kind of woman is that? (Rush Limbaugh thinks he has a name or two that fit)

And in another article I glanced at I found this information –

Ms. Allred (that’s Gloria Allred, the noted “women’s” attorney) invited Ms. White (that’s the White who claimed to have a 13 year affair with a married former Presidential candidate) to be her guest at the Oscar Party (a couple of weeks ago) in order to honor her for her courage and her willingness to support other women. (The Cutline, Yahoo News)

Honor her? What kind of a woman has a thirteen year affair with a married man? I’d wager Rush Limbaugh has a name for that too. (The correct “name,” for those of you who may not know, is “sinner.”)

Here’s the Truth. Sexual relationships outside of marriage are a violation of God’s law. We can drive men from attempting to gain public office (which maybe we ought to do), and we can condemn men for speaking unkind words (and do our best to take away their means of support), but we cannot change the Truth. Perhaps it is time to stop attacking the messenger and get the message – our Ship of State is sinking fast.
