Wrong Way
It is alway a wise thing to know where you are going, and how to get there. While there are some adventures to be had by just heading out and seeing where one ends up, sometimes mistakes can be costly.
It was a big day for Italian marathon runner Eyob Faniel, who came in first place at the Venice Marathon Sunday (10/22/17) — after the race’s frontrunners were led astray from the course by a motorcycle guide. In the surprising twist, the leading pack at about 16 miles in ran “several hundred meters” in the wrong direction before doubling back to correct the error. But that was enough for local runner Faniel, the first Italian athlete to win the race in 22 years, to solidify his lead. His final time was 2 hours, 12 minutes and 16 seconds. (The Guardian)
Life is like that sometimes. Especially when it comes to Spiritual experiences. We are easily led astray when we are weak in the knowledge of Truth. Occasionally we find people in our life that seem to know a “better way,” or “have a new revelation.” Perhaps they say, “I have heard the very voice of God.” Since we (Believers) are those who have a tendency to trust those around us, it is vital that the revealed Word of God (Scripture) be uppermost and undebatable in our hearts and minds.
Please don’t hear me saying that Godly people purposefully lead other in the wrong direction, but the Enemy will work hard at making sure we doubt what is difficult for that which is humanly pleasing.
I am unalterably convinced that God has already given us all we need, all that is vital, all that is True, all that is required for redemption, and for the intimate relationship He desires with us, in His matchless revelation, the Bible. Read it! Know it! Live it!
