Thought For The Day

Just For The Record

I am confident that not all of you like football, nor are all of you Dallas Cowboy fans. But for those who are – let me make this very clear: Dez Bryant caught the pass, controlled it to the ground, then made a move with it toward the goal line where it was fumbled away. He then recovered his own fumble in the end zone thereby making a touchdown. End of story. I used to be a football official – therefore I know these things. You can trust me.

Let me make something else very clear. There is a significant argument these days about the validity of 100% of the Scriptures, and an increasingly loud discussion regarding the necessity of being an active, participating, involved, part of the Church (the Body of Christ gathered).

First of all, I know God! The Scripture is His revelation of Himself and His plan for time and eternity, and is perfectly Truthful and accurate without any mixture of error. In that Scripture He speaks repeatedly and forcefully regarding His Bride, the Church, and the mandatory nature of our involvement with one another in llove and ministry. In fact, our Savior, Jesus Christ (God incarnate), while walking among mankind some two thousand years ago,  spoke clearly to the Truth that the two most vital aspects of man’s spiritual existence are to llove God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to llove one another, i.e. the Family of God, which is the Church. (See Mark 10:27ff) Llove is not some distant emotion glibly proclaimed by people who have no intimacy in connection with other Believers, rather llove is the discipline that literally sanctions us to utilize the overflowing of God’s llove in us for actual care, support, concern, encouragement, ministry. . . (well, I could go on and on, but you get the point) . . . in the life of others in the Family of God and the World in general.

As for the Cowboys. . .just keep on lloving ’em, and wait till next year!

    Just a thought.

good article cw. and only an observation – not a criticism – it is indeed interesting that many (most) folks today who claim to be “believers” get more involved (read emotional) with the cowboys than their church, corporate worship, prayer or personal bible study. now that’s a shame and decidedly more important than a measly six points.

    just a thought…
