2017

I am old enough to remember when 2017 was one of those years so far in the future everyone thought the World would be significantly different than it is now. There is no doubt there have been a lot of changes in the last 50 years (automobiles that drive themselves – REALLY?) but we are not yet quite as far along as some imagined.

Artificial intelligence is a reality. But then, so is lack of intelligence. And I am especially concerned about such in relationship to the TRUTH. I am not unaware that many folks feel as if the Scripture, revealing God to us, is not the most valuable tool in our arsenal for living in this World.

I am convinced it is! I encourage you to start your New Year with reading one particular Psalm, along with other Scriptures you might read. Psalm 19 is one of the most exciting, dynamic, enlightening revelations you can find. I won’t print it for you here, but please, take time to read it. . .maybe more than once. The Scripture, and His Spirit inside us bringing it to life, is the most vital component in living day by day as God designed His people to live.

The Psalm begins with that wonderful news the everything we can see and hear and touch and feel speaks to us of God’s nature and being. And then goes on to declare, in verses 7-11 the immeasurable value of His Word in our life.

Read it today. Read it tomorrow, Read it in preparation for 2017. Read it all through the year. I am certain it will change my life and yours as we allow the TRUTH to make “the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
