Check That Info

I have long recognized that most people are smarter than I am, and obviously, those who work for Immigration Control (I. C. E.) must be exceptionally bright. Either that, or I am missing something that everyone else knows.

Consider the following from Yahoo News:

As the federal government launches a new program that will allow many young undocumented immigrants to stay temporarily in the U.S., officials warn that applications will be closely scrutinized for fraud and that anyone caught lying could face criminal charges and swift deportation.Wednesday is the first day that as many 1.76 million undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as minors can begin submitting requests for a two-year reprieve from deportation.

Now help me get this straight. Undocumented immigrants who came to the United States at some time and some age (unknown to ICE), via some unknown means (crossing the border in the Arizona desert, perhaps), and thereby breaking (one, some, a few, etc.) the laws of the United States Immigration Service, will be asked not to lie about when they came and at what age, because if they do they will be deported, and if they don’t they will be deported because they are “illegal.” (Actually there is not much chance of the latter either) Since we don’t know when the “family” came, and we don’t know who came with whom (mom, dad, both, a coyote, a human trafficker,  drug runners, etc.), how exactly are we going to check the facts of their eligibility? Now, if Mom and Dad have already been deported, how will we reach them to get the facts? If they are still here illegally, are they going to want to show up for the questioning? Of course we know Mom and Dad won’t lie. One might suspect that the Coyotes are pretty honest as well.  Does it matter? Does anyone care? What am I missing here? There has got to be something here I am too dumb to get (quiet, out there!!).

I am NOT opposed to LEGAL immigration. I am opposed to breaking the laws of the United States. I am opposed to any organization, be it Government or private enterprise, who facilitates the same.

It’s too bad we don’t have the mental capacity (read: omniscience) of God. He know  those who are His, and it is those alone who will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Lying, sneaking, hoping and dreaming won’t get you past Him.
