Thought For The Day

Crowded

Lots of things are crowded these days at one time or another. The highways and streets where I used to live are crowded with cars, the fun festivals that are so frequent are unbearably filled with people, people stand in long lines at the airport, the coffee shop, the “license plate” office. Even the bank, or checkout line at the grocery store, can be frustrating – especially if one is short on time and long on impatience. For people who are selling something – think art, coffee, groceries, license plates – lines are a good thing – at least from the perspective that one may well “sell” more goods.

One place where I can never remember standing in line is at Church. Sometimes I go there because I can walk right in, take any seat I like, people are nice to me, and ITS FREE. I am sure there are Churches where one might have to wait behind others, but it’s just because there is a meal at the end of the line.

I think the time is coming, however, when the lines at the Church will be interminable. Problem is, those in line will be “one day too late.” The gift they are seeking will be no longer available. They will say to themselves – “I wish I had come last week. . .I can’t believe I have missed the grace of God.”

No lines – no waiting – try it this weekend!
