Thought For The Day

Defining

How does one define an individual – what are the criteria used to determine if an individual is honest, trustworthy, wise, competent. . . (I could go on and on).

I read with interest the following statements made by a current Presidential candidate –

“I do not define my candidacy by my religion. “A person should not be elected because of his faith nor should he be rejected because of his faith.” (ABC World News)

Scripture defines every person by their faith in God or lack thereof. The Bible is quite clear in further defining Believers regarding every aspect (read: detail) of that faith which they embrace.

It is a gross over-simplification to believe that everyone who professes “faith in God” is equally qualified to lead this great Nation. There are innumerable qualities and factors that are part and parcel of succeeding as President of the United States in a manner that “forms a more perfect union,” strengthens our position in the World and helps to create an environment for “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

Religion and faith (two totally different concepts), or lack thereof,  define every individual. As a person who possesses some intellect and wisdom (and who lloves, cherishes, and attempts to obey Scripture) I would be foolish to think otherwise.
