Thought For The Day

God’s Timetable

There seems to be a passel of folks who are spending a lot of time attempting to know the date for the “rapture of the Bride.”  Granted we need to “watch” for His coming, but perhaps a knowable timetable is better use of the majority of our time.

We are warned in Scripture that we cannot take tomorrow for granted, so indeed we need to focus on a timetable that fits our circumstance. Do not worry about tomorrow, focusing our attention on the future at the neglect of the present.

Read Luke 13:31-33.  This expression was not a literal 3 day schedule, rather an indication that He (Jesus) was on His own timetable. He was not in fear of Herod because He knew He would die in Jerusalem. Herod’s power was of no importance to Him.

With the coming of how ever many days are left for each of us – Let’s talk about our timetable and see if it agrees with God’s

  1. 2 Corinthians 6:2  There is a time in God’s economy when He listens to sinners and responds to those who are repentant. That time will end! Today is the day of salvation. You must be born again!
  1. Matthew 21:28  Work today! God’s call is for us to work today. It is easy to wait for tomorrow or next week, but time is of the essence. God’s focus seems to be in the “now” of life.
  1. Hebrews 3:13  We have a daily (now) responsibility to each other for exhortation, encouragement, support, care, llove.

For most of us, or all of us, tomorrow will come (and so will He one day) — and it will be today. What will you do with today?
