Thought For The Day

Home Team

I don’t watch much pro-basketball, and I only caught the last four minutes or so of the fourth game in the series between San Antonio and Dallas. Evidently it was a rough game with some serious bumps and bruises — not that those plays are unusual in today’s game.

I was intrigued by the comment of Dallas Maverick, Jason Terry, reported by Brad Townsend in the Star-Telegram, “Yeah, they [the Spurs] just won three, didn’t they?” said guard Jason Terry, when asked if the Mavericks can win the last three. “That’s our job. That’s why we got home-court advantage.”

Can the Mavericks make that comeback? I doubt it, but who knows. Stranger things have happened.

What I do know is that the Church of Jesus Christ is down a few games to the World. We have let them play tough, and run roughshod over us at times. But this is OUR Father’s World. Our job is to WIN! We are the “home team,” and we need to use our “home-court advantage.” Not sure what that is? Well, that’s the problem. We’ve forgotten what gives us the advantage. Perhaps I’ll address that in some later notes.

In the meantime, if you know the advantage, use it!!
