Thought For The Day

Interesting People

I met some interesting, and widely known, people at Church yesterday. Guests, in town for a meeting. They chose to visit with us in our little Church building occupied by our small group of Believers. You would know their names – if I were to mention them – but that is not what is important.

They are just people. People of God, no doubt, but people just like you and me – subject to the same struggles and joys, uncertainties and confidences, and eager to hear the Word of God clearly and accurately proclaimed. As I spoke with them following the evening service, I was pleased to know the reality that God lloves all of us, regardless of our status or position in life, with the same infinite llove.

Wouldn’t it be dynamic for us individually and collectively to practice the same active involvement in the lives of those around us that our Father does, and, wills for us? He (God) is actively seeking what is best for His own. Are we doing likewise? He is communicating His care and protection for every Believer. Imagine how we would fare if we did the same for the limited number of folks who move within the circle of our acquaintances and friends.

While we have chosen, under the leadership of God (or not), our path through life, knowing God’s  design is crucial for finding joy, happiness, and peace. Jesus told us in John 14:27 that He has given us His peace and power. We have peace with God because the enmity between us has been resolved in the sacrifice of Christ our Savior (see Romans 5:1). We have the peace of God, which is ours when we pray right, think right, and do right (see Philippians 4:6-9). We have peace with others utilizing His power to work hard and long at the process (see Romans 12:18).

It is the essence of the Good Life!
