Thought For The Day

Life and Death

As our World continues at war (both small and large), and with the probability that we (read: United States of America) will be drawn into the continuing battles that Islamists refuse to end in their quest for World domination, I am wondering if we (read: United States of America) are destined to live out our fascination with “war,”  “death,” “murder,” and “mayhem.”

I saw a list of new video games coming out in 2015 –

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PS4) – February 24, 2015; Mad Max (PS4, PS3) – 2015; Axiom Verge (PS4, PS Vita) – 2015; Hellraid (PS4) – 2015; The Order: 1886 (PS4) – February 20th, 2015 (NA & EU); Mortal Kombat X (PS4, PS3) – 2015; Homefront: The Revolution (PS4) – 2015; — just to name a few.

Is gaming following reality? Or is reality following gaming. So many 3rd World cultures seem to glamorize these realities, and our culture seems intent on doing so also. Catch a few movie releases for the same kind of maelstrom.

The Scriptures says there “will be wars, and rumors of wars.” And there has been since the beginning of time. I can’t help but wonder if we are becoming more effective at drilling the reality of such into the minds of millions of individuals who can’t wait for the latest video depiction.

Heaven help us. As the Church loses influence  – that which comes to the forefront is deadly scary.

P.S. I am headed  out on the road for a couple of weeks (a lot of work and a little vacation). I will write as I find Internet availability. Don’t give up on me. “I’ll be back!”  (Think Schwarzenegger)
