Thought For The Day

Life

Somewhere along the way men decided that they were smarter, or perhaps I should say, more wise, than God. It comes after the choice to rebel, I think. God’s “way” is disciplined, while men will most often choose to devise alternatives – hence, assuming themselves to be smarter (more wise).

FARGO, N.D. (AP) North Dakota lawmakers who approved what would be some of the most restrictive abortion laws in the U.S. are now considering outlawing all abortions. The “personhood” measures would ban abortions by defining human life as beginning with conception.

At what point did men decide that human life does not begin at conception? Has mankind made a final decision about when it does begin? What day, hour, minute, second, separates a human being from. . .something else, “tissue”. . .for example? Are we completely settled on when a human death at the hands of another human is murder?

I have long heard the adage that “morality cannot be legislated.” I think perhaps we might adjust that thinking a bit. Only God can set the standard on what is moral (righteous?) and what is immoral (unrighteous?).

He has! We are not Him.
