I have been listening with interest to the pros and cons regarding the “super collider” (used to be one near here that never got off the ground – or is that underground).  The scientists working on the project are trying to discover how the Universe got its start. “Two beams will be fired at the same time in opposite directions with the aim of recreating conditions a split second after the big bang, which scientists theorize was the massive explosion that created the universe.” Some folks, not part of this brilliant scientific community, have feared that the experiment (the first of which happened earlier today) will create an environment in…
