    To Know My End

    Early this morning one of my friends, my family, died. I had spent some time with her yesterday, and I expressed my concern to other family members — perhaps the end of this life was near. I never cease to be amazed at how unprepared for death we are. . .as if, somehow, it is not coming for each of us. I am reminded of the words of the Psalmist, “Lord, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am.” The best comfort in death is knowing that one has moved from this troubled world to the manifest…
