Thought For The Day

Peace and War

It has been frequently stated that Islam is a “religion of peace.” Most Islamists I have read reject that statement. And so they should. Obviously, for many of the Islamic faith, peace is far from the chosen path for the achievements they espouse.

CAIRO (AP) — An international human rights group has chronicled attacks on 42 churches, dozens of Christian institutions and schools as well as homes and business owned by Christians amid an intimidation campaign believed to be waged by supporters of ousted Islamist President Mohamed Morsi.

What is to become of this World? Should Jehovah God’s plan include a continuing refrain from removing His Church from this Earth –

Christianity is currently the largest religion in the world. It is followed by about 33% of all people — a percentage that has remained stable for many decades. If current trends continue, Islam will become the most popular world religion sometime in the mid-21st century. (ReligiousTolerance.org)

There exists the possibility that if the demographic shift of the United States of America, along with the political consequences of such, continues, we could be on the list of those “attacked.”

Hence, we will find ourselves in dire need of those Scriptural references we seem to passively resist in time of peace –

“Having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us through. . .His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart, in full assurance of faith. . . . Let us hold fast the confession of our Hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:19-23 in part)
