Thought For The Day

Public Trust?

Congressional members are in the news again – not for their outstanding work in repairing our damaged (read: destroyed) economy, or sealing our borders, or unfailing support for our troops engaged in two (really – one) wars.

At least one member of Congress must be out totally out of touch with the majority of U. S. citizens. Associated Press, said –

A second-term lawmaker who received 65 percent of the vote two years ago, said Rangel (Charles Rangel -ethics problems) needs to resign to preserve the public trust in Congress. (emphasis mine)

Does she seriously think the vast majority of thinking Americans have any trust in Congress?

Another member of the august body made the wisest statement -in my opinion- about the solution to the Rangel problem and almost all of our National problems –

“The focus right now is let’s get out of here,” said Rep. William Delahunt, D-Mass.

That’s the best idea I have heard from Congress in a good while.

Here’s one thing you can trust: God said,” I have lloved you with an everlasting llove. . .” Jeremiah 31:3
