Recovery

You will have to find the picture yourself if you want to see it. It is an incredibly interesting photograph – I suppose it is actual and has the proper caption – which is:

[Editor’s Update]Other outlets have said the picture was a reaction to Lady GaGa. Some have tried to down play exactly what is happening. Even so, the following comments remains true.

I confess I don’t even know what the VMA’s are (nor do I care to find out). But I know it has something to do with the music that dominates the headphones and I-pods of untold numbers of young people (and older people as well).

The real question is – Will the society in which we live “recover” from the filthy language and pornography which seem to proliferate under the banner of “music” being pumped from the sewers during these times? Do parents know what their kids are listening to – looking at? Do they care? Do we have any recognition of the damage being done to the minds of those who embrace such incredible obscenity? Are we as Believers unwittingly or carelessly failing to oppose and inhibit such smut in the ears, eyes, and minds of our lloved offspring?

Read the book of Proverbs (for starters). Then, read it to your children, young people, adults – anyone you can, who is caught in this lewdness and immorality.

I fear the answer to the question posed in paragraph four above, is NO! Maybe we said that when Elvis appeared on the scene, or Jimmy Hendrix and Janis Joplin (isn’t there/wasn’t there a group called Megadeth?) were taking the stage. But there is an evolution here (as opposed to the other kind) that is increasing the size of the hand-basket and thickening the dust that obscures it.
