Thought For The Day

Rest and Relaxation

I am sitting in Portland, OR, this morning and finally figuring out how to make my iPad work for posting lloveletters. I have been at it for two days. I must have entered my password a hundred times, and finally realized that I was putting in a keystroke that was incorrect. How embarrassing! Old age is catching up with me at an accelerated pace.

it reminded me how so many of us waste precious time doing things that won’t make us in any way more like the Savior. Since that is the goal of our life as Believers, we ought to make sure we are not missing opportunities to move forward.

it is easy (as easy as making a wrong keystroke) to rush off to work or play without prayer and a little attention to God’s Word. Missing the gatherings of God’s family becomes regular, and we are less likely to practice the disciplines of llove.

Being away from home and the familiar routines can lead to missing out on God’s daily blessings because we are “resting” and away from the normality of  the ordinary.

Here’s some wise counsel. Don’t do that!

I think rest is highly overrated – LOL.
We have some guys here that call Information services everyday and say, “something is the matter with my password.” NEver do they say, I must have forgotten my password. So I am not sure Age is the issue 🙂

Bring us some cool weather when you come back, but leave all the Commie ideas there.
