Thought For The Day

Scared

I am not particularly fond of snakes. I do like them better than spiders. I have made it a habit to avoid both when possible. Several  years ago, when I lived in Mineral Wells, TX, a friend (Louis) took me rattlesnake hunting. We found them. I must have been out of my mind – I know he was.

Can you imagine this:

A 50-year-old Texas woman who says she is “already afraid of everything” got a huge scare recently when she found a 12-foot python in her bathroom. (Yahoo News)

The Scripture refers to the Enemy as a serpent (snake) in several passages. He is easy to find these days – and if he does not scare the life out of you, he ought to. While the Enemy utilizes the most beautiful and attractive evils to lure us to our eternal death (which is separation from God forever), he can be readily dispatched because he is a defeated foe.

Unfortunately many among us keep returning to the “bathroom” where the Snake is up to no good. Some find him attractive, inviting, exciting, but his ways are the ways of death. Given the opportunity a Python will kill and destroy that which attracts it. Be advised you are on the Enemy’s list of destruction and death. ONLY Christ has defeated the serpent. Without His infinite grace life is infinitely dangerous.
