Thought For The Day

Some Things Are Really Hard

Some folks say that nothing worthwhile comes easily. I suppose that is true. One thing I know is that some things are hard to do, and the Preacher at our Church touched on a few of them last Sunday. May I share one with you?

Psalm 37 – Do not be agitated by evildoers;
do not envy those who do wrong.
For they wither quickly like grass
and wilt like tender green plants.
Trust in the Lord and do what is good;
dwell in the land and live securely.
Take delight in the Lord,
and He will give you your heart’s desires.

The Preacher said, “Don’t fret!” There are things you cannot change, stuff you cannot fix, problems you cannot solve, and troubles you cannot miss. Being agitated by those who are active participants in the evils of this World is just not wise.

Every day in my reading I am assaulted with the Truth that those we should be able to trust to be in charge of our Government are not trustworthy. Their resumes (when fully vetted) are replete with every sort of wrong. . .and yet, they are the only options. We are given no other possibilities, hence, great agitation foments within our hearts and minds.

Of course the answer to the problem is found in vs. 3, “Trust in the Lord.”

That’s always the answer, isn’t it? Nod your head with a meaningful yes! You know it is. So just. . .Don’t Fret.
