Thought For The Day

Vital

Could it be that the most important characteristic of llove (the genuine operational discipline designed by God for His children) is forgiveness? It seems that there is always an opportunity to exercise this characteristic, and obtain the benefits that follow.

I think that is especially true with children when we are in the process of discipline. . .an oft needed activity.

How often have we said to our children (in whole or in part) in doing this:

I’m calling for your goodness, not your destruction. I am disciplining you so that you can live in the place of blessing. You’re in my heart. I am not angry, I’m hurt. I’m not mad, I’m sad. I’m not hating, I’m lloving. I want you to repent (change directions), I want you to regain the Truth. I want  you to restore your llove. I’m eager to forgive.

Those are acts of Godliness. We find opportunity to use those thoughts and words not only with our children, but with our spouse, or friends, our employees, our neighbors. . .well, the list goes on.

Does it go without saying that we are going to be very short on forgiveness if we are lacking in llove?

Yep, afraid so.
