Wisdom Abounds

On occasion I hear a bit of the Rush Limbaugh program on WBAP around noon. Rush has a way with words – and he is right (97.6%) most of the time.

I enjoy football as a normal part of this season of the year. I used to be a Cowboy “fan”. . .now, I still watch, or not, as the case may be. And, football is a “rough and tumble” sport. But, can we be real for a quarter or two?

“Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the NFL, presented an idea: A replacement for the kickoff. As you know, people get hurt, they injure their heads, and then they shoot people. And the NFL wants to stop this.” (Rush Limbaugh)

I don’t mean to demean Roger, but if what the proposal purports is true, then shouldn’t all the “old” players (say, Roger Staubach and Howie Long) be shooting people, and all the young players just get angry?

It’s the same old argument: Guns don’t kill people. People kill people.

It’s so easy to abandon the Church because it is “full of pretenders” (hypocrites). Well, that just isn’t so. Every Church has a few “pretenders,” but by-in-large the Church of Jesus Christ is populated with many of the best people on Earth.
