Big Sky

I know that it is Montana that is “big sky country,” but I have been seeing the big sky in Wyoming. I arrived in Cheyenne just before noon today and the sky was blue-er than I can ever remember. There are a few puffy white clouds, but mostly it is that rich, wonderful blue.

Almost every one thinks God is somewhere up there beyond that blue. I don’t. I am sure that God is right here in Wyoming. . .and He is right where you are as well. God dwells in His children, and leads and guides by the power of His Spirit, His Church.

Many of us don’t believe that. We are sure He is “up there” and we have to somehow get through the blue, through His indifference, His busy schedule, His inability to control all the things we are sure need controlling.

Not so, of course. He is on the Throne. He is in His people. He is here. . .and there. . .and everywhere all the time.

I am looking up. I am looking in. I am looking for the beauty of holiness. One does not have to be in Wyoming to look up, in, and for holiness. Get looking.
