Thought For The Day

Buying and Selling

Buy low, sell high. In our society the shrewd buyer and wise seller are persons whom we admire. Almost all older people can tell you about a time when they should have bought. . .and a time when they “coulda’, shoulda’,  woulda’ sold.”

We have entered a time in our history when there are not so many buyers, and sellers are hanging on to what they have. . .just in case, or because the “market is not right.”

God’s Word is still the authority on  this matter of buying and selling (and everything else as well). Solomon, the wisest of all men said, “Buy–and do not sell–truth, wisdom, instruction, and understanding.” (Proverbs 23:23)

It is getting harder to find, much less, really know Truth. Wisdom is a commodity that seems to be in short supply and understanding is often lacking. While those things have always been vital, yet hard to come by, we are moving further and further away from even the perception that we cannot know life as our Father designed it without them.

One of the pursuits of a successful life (as God defines success) is to find those who know Truth, have become wise in it’s proficient use, have the ability to teach you, and help you to arrive at genuine understanding.

Just a few verses before the passage quoted above, Solomon said, “keep your mind on the right course.” Wise words of Truth. There are many, many more. I suggest you begin a journey of discovery before it is too late!
