Collect the Guns

I am supposing it is time to take guns from the Police. We are quick to seek “charges” against parents whose children find a gun at home and carry it off to play or school or somewhere – whether or not anyone is hurt. On the other hand we overlook other circumstances because. . .well, I don’t know why we do that. It will be interesting to see what happens here:

Another incident of a young boy and a gun. It happened during an anti drug school safety demonstration at an elementary school in — California. Police say that a loaded gun mounted to a police motorcycle was on display and it accidentally discharged when a student got a hold of it. (USA Today)

No one was hurt or injured (by the gun) in this case. I hope that “young boy” doesn’t go to prison for a number of years – but then you know California.

The point here is that it is not “guns” that are a major problem in our society. People are the major problem in our society. Sometimes accidents happen – sometimes mistakes are made – sometimes the unexpected occurs. I don’t believe that is ever going to change.

Life is dangerous. It always has been. Long ago there were accidents, mistakes, unexpected consequences. Today it is just the same – only different (if you catch my drift). That, of course leads me to remind you that life is best lived with the leadership of God’s Spirit deep within our innermost being. We may still find dangerous circumstances to face, but we will never have to face them alone or without the wisdom of Truth to guide us. And, should death result – we move on to the “final victory.” (Yes, I am hoping someone(s) will ask.)
