Thought For The Day

Confusion

Carrie Brown in POLITICO made this statement:

The confusion comes at a politically sensitive juncture . . . as he attempts to build credibility and a comfort level with women voters and institutional advocacy groups. It followed a major push . . . to court religious voters who hold positions at odds with these advocacy groups.

Here’s the problem. There must be no confusion at all regarding where one stands on moral issues. One might argue that morality springs from different sources, but I reject that argument in favor of all morality originating with the Scriptures. In an attempt to woo voters, it seems the vast majority of candidates for public office are willing to “change sides,” “straddle the fence,” or just “create confusion” in an attempt to gain whatever votes may be swayed by such behavior.

We want, we need, we deserve, especially in a Presidential candidate, someone who can and will articulate a clear and certain position on every issue. In the matter of abortion, I would encourage all candidates to take a moral stand on the sanctity of life.  There is no morality in murder – regardless the age of the victim.
