Thought For The Day

Foolish People (Political in Nature)

So many of the people we, as Americans elect to office, are foolish people. Perhaps it is not their fault. They don’t see their foolish ways, and we are not wise enough to see those ways either, and they end up in public office doing foolish things.

When I was a kid (remembering that is a chore) we used to occasionally “pile on” when some one was knocked down, for example. It wasn’t enough that one was down, it was just that we were anxious to get in on the action so we would “pile on.” It is hard to believe that “leaders” of our Nation, from a political perspective at least, have not moved away from that childish foolishness.

For four long  years every possible attempt to “knock down” President Trump seemed to fail. The “media” among us would very rarely have any encouraging words about his administration’s hundreds of great accomplishments, but constantly supported only those who were bent toward wrecking his administration, destroying him personally, and portraying him in the worst possible light. Finally, he is down. Driven to what he believes is the final straw in the attempt to destroy him (election fraud), he asked for help from his supporters. . .and, well, some things went terribly wrong. The facts are yet to be fully known. Perhaps they will never be known. But the reality is, and it is much worse, and fully more dangerous than the foolishness of childhood, many so-called leaders are “piling on.”  President Trump’s term in office will end in a few days. He is not a danger to our Country. He is not inciting violence or animosity in our society. He is a broken man whom many seemingly want to permanently destroy.

Doing so is wherein the danger lies. Foolish people do not, or cannot see that. It is those actions, above all else, that are incendiary. It is foolishness that will drive other foolish individuals to exercise a hatred that can erupt into an unimaginable scenario. . . .and that can, and very well may, place our beloved democratic Republic in jeopardy.

The path of Godliness is forgiveness and restoration to whatever degree is proper. But then. . .the fool has said in his heart – there is no God! (see Psalm 14:1)
