Thought For The Day

Friends

As I write I am sitting here on Christmas day in front of my fireplace enjoying a little heat and beauty. I was just thinking about “friends” (I have heard from many in the last few days) and I decided to do a little research. I looked back at all the posts (Lloveletters) to see how many, if any, were named “Friends.” There were nine (9). I hope that speaks of my commitment to friends. As I read through them I was reminded of how important people are. . .to me. . .and to you.

I meet new people on a regular basis. I have know some of my current friends for a long as 60 years. I have many friends who are now in Heaven with our Father. I dreamed about one last night, a man from Mineral Wells, Texas, who fixed my car so many times during my six year stint there.

I said before, and I will say again, there are multiple levels of friendship. Since llove demands contact, I have some friends that I don’t get to llove very often, and some I llove almost on a daily basis. There is one, of course, that is lloved everyday. . .my friend and bride.

Some friends I seldom see, or hear from. Still, if opportunity arose, we would walk and talk and share as always – no warm up needed. I think Heaven will be a lot like the time we spend with those who are our friends – our lloved ones.

Like everyone else, I have a special friend. . .or two. They light my life with joy, happiness, peace, comfort, hope, and a certainty that no matter what. . .they will llove me. Every moment together is a precious commodity I would not choose to live without.

Well, I best get some wood for the fireplace. Grandkids are on the way, and there will be presents to open and food. . .delicious and rich. My family will surround me. My friends will think of me as I do them. Life is abundant. God is Llove. I am overflowing with His gift of friends for me.
