Visitor Numbers Down at Smithsonian Due to Closure

WASHINGTON — Jun 24, 2014, 8:35 AM

There it is. Just like I copied it from the Internet. I didn’t know if I was supposed to be distressed, concerned, or surprised. I guess my first thought was – “Certainly if you close it there will be fewer visitors.”

Well, of course that is not what they meant. The article goes on to talk about Government shutdown and the resultant closing of Washington area attractions. There really wasn’t much reason to close them, except the Administrative officials wanted to hurt the people who visit such attractions as much as possible to discredit others politically.

But it got me wondering if the number of visitors at your Church might be “down” because the people who make up the congregation are, to one degree or another, closed minded, unfriendly, unwilling to change, slow to accept others, increasingly self-absorbed, or any number of other issues.

The Church of Jesus Christ ought to be the most welcoming, open, friendly, willing to reach-out people in the World, don’t you think? I am not talking about doctrine or dogma or style or anything like that. I am talking about willingness to accept others regardless of their. . .shall we say. . .”difference.”

Know: we don’t change the Truth or the clear proclamation of the Truth. We just want to be the kind of people who welcome others to hear and accept the GOOD NEWS, and become a maturing Godly person.

That’s who we are. . .right?
