Heaven Help Us!

The “mainstream media” is losing it – in my opinion. We have reached a point in this great Country where the influence of so few affects the thinking of so many, that “freedom of the press” is becoming a scary thing.

I am still trying to figure out this comment, which leads off the story about a man who seemed to be implementing a plan to shoot some people (and did shoot one security guard) in Washington D. C.

Floyd Lee Corkins II, the suspect in Wednesday’s shooting ?at the Washington, D.C., headquarters of the Family Research Council, was carrying 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches in a bag when he opened fire, according to the criminal complaint filed by the Justice Department on Thursday. Are we now to think that eating Chick-fil-A sandwiches leads to violence? After seeing a picture of this guy, I am thinking he could handle those sandwiches for lunch. Maybe he was going to give them to the folks at FRC.

In any case, the inference here, in my opinion, appears to be the taking of a petty swipe at a great American business, or the action of an individual who is obviously disturbed being used as a tool to incite negative attitudes toward a business that simply sells sandwiches to hungry customers.

Was there ever a time when principled people in this Country were careful regarding the influence of their writing? Have we always been so cynical? Have we always been so quick to condemn?

We need to remind ourselves God holds us accountable for what we say. Do not mistake His infinite llove for ignorance or indecisiveness.
