Thought For The Day

Ignorance Is Not An Excuse

To live in the United States of America for a lengthy period and never hear the Gospel is difficult. To refuse to believe the Gospel you have heard, then claim ignorance, is not an excuse. The Scriptures teach quite clearly that in the “end” many will make excuses of all kinds, but none will be acceptable.

There is only one name under Heaven whereby one may be saved (redeemed, born again, regenerated, receive everlasting life, be made fit for Heaven) and that is the name of Jesus Christ. (see Acts 4:12)

I am always sadden when “churches” (note the small ‘c’) lead people astray. I am deeply distressed that the word “Christian” no longer means what it did when first used at Antioch in the first century (“little Christs”). Every Believer should be overwhelmed by the magnitude of ignorance in relationship to Eternal Life being found “by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.” We have not been good stewards of the calling we have to share the “good news” with our Nation, much less our World.

God forbid children should be led to believe a lie – by parents, or “church” leaders.

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian had their daughter North West baptized in Jerusalem on Monday. “Kim Kardashian’s daughter will be baptized and become a Christian officially and a member of the Armenian church,” Archbishop Aris Shirvanian said. “All I know is that she’s a famous personality. I don’t know her in person. In any case she is welcome with her family.” (Associated Press, April 14, 2015)

North West will not become a “Christian” through her “baptism.” The Armenian Church did not die for her sin. Archbishop Shirvanian evidently doesn’t know Kim Kardashian (I suppose), nor does he know, evidently, how one becomes a “Christian.” Officially the child will become a member of the Armenian Church. I pray someone will share their faith with her somewhere along the journey of her life. And, just perhaps, she will come to faith believing that Christ died to redeem her from her sin of unbelief and the curse of eternal death.
