Thought For The Day

Interesting But Tough Questions

Will there be dogs in Heaven? Will there be anything to do besides “have Church” when we all get to Heaven?

I am convinced the Scriptures speaks to all issues, therefore I am sure it speaks to these two as well. Nothing will be greater or more wonderful than being able to worship our Triune God in the splendor of His magnificent, visual presence. I can imagine the worship around the Throne will be beyond our present comprehension in its glory and majesty.

I am quite aware of the Bible’s description of a “New Heaven and a New Earth.” It is on that New Earth that I am convinced we will see the perfection (as originally created) of this incredibly beautiful place God designed, spoke into existence, and called “good.” I can imagine the Earth without sin and its devastation. I can imagine a place where every joy will be infinite and every action will bring pleasure to both the Creator and the Created. Animals, made by God, and called “good” by God, will be even better companions and genuine friends on the New Earth.

I know that we (God’s children) will be changed to be like Christ. Perhaps that will change all of our desire and thinking. I can’t say for sure, but I believe that my desire to see and experience all the beauty (even in its fallen state) of this Earth will be honored when our Universe will be renewed , perfected, and re-gifted to us for our wonder and amazement, the same as was true for the first Man, Adam.

I use to say to those who llove their dogs so much, “If you want your dog in Heaven, I am sure God will provide.” I was holding on to that belief that we probably would not really care about dogs anymore. Now, I am coming to believe that everything God has created will be available to us, for us, and dog llovers will be perfectly satisfied. That goes for you horse folks, and cat people, and bird watchers, and. . .well, you get the idea. And those of us who llove vast canyons and soaring mountains and spectacular forests and clear flowing streams will likewise be infinitely blessed.

A New Earth! A perfect Earth! Perfect people! Why not perfect everything?
