Thought For The Day

National Security Risk

Regardless of one’s politics, the water is a bit muddied these days regarding what is “happening,” “likely to happen,” and/or “possible” in the matter of United States involvement in the Syrian civil war.

Now that the issue in “in the hands” of Congress (and that is a terribly scary reality) who knows what will be the eventual outcome. A new voice has spoken today – Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

“I will be voting against this resolution — a vital national security risk is clearly not at play,” McConnell said in a speech prepared for delivery on the Senate floor that painted the White House strategy as muddled and rife with “unintended consequences.” (Yahoo News)

And, as strongly as I feel about the Syrian issue, there is a much more important “vital national security risk” that remains unaddressed by Congress, and most of the people in this once “Christian” nation. That being, our security as a Nation is at risk of dissolution by Jehovah God as we continue to spurn every warning of Scripture, ignore the Truth of God’s Law, and distance ourselves from His llove.

I am reminded of a beautiful song we used to sing – “Return to the one who lloves you; return to the Savior who cares; He give perfect peace, your burdens He bears; return to the Savior who cares.”
