Thought For The Day

October. . .November Surprise

I gotta tell you. I am not surprised. When one reaches an intellectual conclusion that Washington, D. C. (a euphemism for the U. S. Government) has reached “absolute corruption,” none of the “surprises” are surprising.

(WASHINGTON) — The FBI has obtained a warrant to begin reviewing newly discovered emails. . . .      (TIME)

Our Nation’s political leaders have taken us down a garden path inviting us to smell the roses while planted underneath were the remains of so many lies, scams, fraudsswindles, schemesracketstricks, conshustlesflimflams, and shakedowns, it has  been hard to find any fragrance except that of. . .well, I will  let you pick an end for that sentence.

I, and all others who are committed to obedience to the Word of God, understand that we are required to “submit to authority,” and pray for those who are part of the political structure (See Romans 13:1 and Matthew 5:44 (?).

We do retain the right, under the Constitution of the United States to change our political rulers when necessary. While understanding that God establishes all who come to power, I do not believe that attempting to elect to office “good men,” and “good women,” is outside the circle of obedience and submission.

We are in a mess now in the attempt to find much, if any, good in some of our elected, or about to be elected, leaders. The best statement I have heard in this matter – let me repeat here: “We have the opportunity to elect an immoral person or an amoral person to the Presidency.”

I am confident anyone who understands the definition of those two terms, and recognizes the magnitude of possibilities in the latter,  can make an intelligent decision. Even then, either way. . .we are still in for some surprises.
