Society Catches Up

Gossip around the Church is nothing new to those who have spent much time among the faithful. “I only said it because it is true,” is a mainstay in the inner circles of  those who claim to be “above” such sins as “passing the facts to others” even when what is said is hurtful and damaging in so many ways.

Now the World is getting in deeper and faster than one might imagine.

My mom used to say, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.” I am sure she was not the originator of that wisdom, but she passed it along.

God said, “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth.” I am confident that extends to what we say on social sites as well. Having fun with teasing and such is not an issue here. Hurting others with what we say or write or “pass along,” is just sin. Clear and simple.
